Dear Parents,
In third class at the moment we are starting to learn a bit more about telling the time. This is a subject that some children really struggle with. Chatting about time on an everyday casual basis will help your daughter if she is struggling. Questions such as ‘how long left?’ or ‘what time will it be when..?’ etc will help with calculating time elapsed. The on screen TV guide is a great help with this! For those who may enjoy online learning, here is a list of websites that have ‘telling time’ games that may be helpful to your child in developing maths skills. Remember, please monitor your daughter carefully when using the Internet as although these websites have been checked for suitability, navigation away from these sites may not be safe for her. As an additional challenge, ask your daughter to check the time when she starts and finishes!
