Over the past few weeks, we have been working hard in Room 13 in the run up to Christmas! We did lots of art, poetry and dance to get us in a festive mood.
We created Christmas baubles as a keepsake. Firstly, we had to use a paper-maché technique using balloons, newspaper and glue to form our baubles. We then took time to paint and design our baubles. They turned out lovely. Maith sibh cailíní!
Our Christmas door ensured everyone felt festive on visiting Room 13! We all measured out a triangle and created a festive design to add to our door’s Christmas tree! We had to be careful when measuring our triangles so that each one would tesselate.
We created paper snowmen and snowflakes to add to the winter theme in our room!

The girls wrote lovely poems about Snowmen. Well done to Elizabeth, Isabella and Julia for sharing their poems with the class!
This month, we focused on dance in P.E. The girls worked very hard in their groups to create dance routines to Michael Bublé’s ‘Let it Snow!’. Make sure to check out SeeSaw to view each groups routine.
We were very fortunate as we got to watch the Helix Christmas Panto ‘Red Riding Hood’ online. It was very entertaining and we all really enjoyed it. We also heard the Nativity Story over Zoom with Fr. Larry and Mrs. McCarthy. Well done to Caoimhe and Sofia for making our class proud and reading on behalf of Seomra 13.
