We started off March by celebrating World Book Day. We wrote amazing book reviews. We wrote about the characters, setting, and plots of a book we read. We have practised summarising a lot in Rang a Trí, and our reviews contained awesome summaries of some of our favourite stories.

Mr Dilleen read every one of our book reviews to select a winner of our World Book Day competition. Congratulations to Elsa Hughes, who was our class winner.

We also dressed up as characters from some of our favourite books.

We celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge by learning An Damhsa Mór and an Dreoilín during our PE lessons. Bhí an-sport againn ag rince sa chlós ag an gCéilí Mór.

Bhí comórtas Ealaíne againn. Comhghairdeas le Olette, a bhuaigh Comórtas na Ranga.

We did lots of great learning activities with Mr Burns during March. We studied 2D and 3D shapes during our Maths lessons, discussing vertices (corners), edges and faces.

For Mother’s Day, we created beautiful cards and clay creations. Mr Burns also helped us to study Vikings in History, and we discussed seeds, soil and growth during Science.

We were thrilled to get dozens of new books for our class library. Each group took a big pile of books, read the blurbs and said who they would recommend their books to.

We played great cooperative games in the halla during our PE time.

During SPHE, we discussed feeling safe and feeling unsafe as part of our Stay Safe programme.

Congratulations to Emma, Eva, Amy, Rosie, Robyn and Olette who qualified to represent our class at the Cross Country trials at St Anne’s Park at the end of March. We were so proud of how well they ran at the Community Games Cross Country event in April.

Congratulations to Elsa Sheehan, Eva Zemka and Amy Gahan who won knitted Easter chicks for their wonderful DEAR diary reading log work this month in English. The chicks were knitted by Granny Walshe, and a donation was made on their behalf to St Francis Hospice in Raheny.
We created beautiful Easter cards during our Art lesson and wish everyone a cracking Easter break!
