Please find below a selection of some of the activities which took place in Belgrove Senior Girls’
during the month of March.
World Book Day: On Friday March 3 rd , all the pupils came to school dressed as their favourite book
character. World Book Day is always a highlight of the school calendar and creates so much
excitement around the school. The pupils also completed book reviews to mark the day. The winning
book review from each class received a book voucher.
First Confession: on Monday 6 th , Tuesday 7 th and Wednesday 8 th of March, the pupils from second
class who are making their First Holy Communion completed the sacrament of First Confession. Each
class visited Fr. O’Brien in St. John the Baptist’s Church, Clontarf. Together with their parents,
teacher and classmates, they celebrated this sacrament in preparation for their First Holy
Communion in May.
Richard Hogan: The Parents Association organised a night for parents with guest speaker Richard
Hogan. Richard is a Family Psychotherapist who spoke with parents on the topics of childhood
anxiety and the importance of ground rules in relation to technology. It was a fantastic event and
Richard provided a lot of food for thought for everyone present.
French Day: The pupils in our three 6 th classes invited parents in on March 15 th to view the projects
they had completed on France. Not only were parents provided with lots of information on France,
they were also provided with some French cuisine to sample as they went between the three
classrooms to view all of the projects.
Soccer: Our school soccer team reached the final of the FAI 5-a-side competition. Unfortunately,
they lost the final on penalties. However, the next day they had a cup game against Rush N.S. which
they won 3-2 and will now advance to the quarter finals of the competition.
Confession: The three 6 th classes attended St. Joh the Baptist Church on Monday, March 27 th . Led by
Fr. Larry, the girls partook in their confession in preparation for their confirmation which will take
place in April.
Holy Faith Matinée: The three 6 th classes were invited by the pupils in T.Y of Holy Faith to attend
their production of ‘Thank You for the Music’. The production took place in the Clasac Theatre.
