We started the year in style by dressing up for Roald Dahl Day. Can you guess which characters we are?
During our PE lessons, we did lots of cooperative games, such as Statues. Can you guess what shapes we were trying to create?
We also played Pass the Hoop.
We listened to Music by Beethoven, and responded with this Art.
Rossa, from the ReDiscovery Centre http://www.rediscoverycentre.ie/ visited our classroom with a Science Workshop on Transport in the Future. We learned about sustainability, the circular economy, and especially enjoyed the interactive activities.
Rossa challenged us to work in groups to design our own environmentally-friendly transportation creations. We then built them using recyclable materials.
During our Geography lesson, we took a walk around Clontarf. We looked out for services in the local area that sell us things, that keep us safe and healthy, that teach us and that entertain us. We looked out for types of housing, places to eat, places to stay, things to do and evidence of nature. We are working on group projects about Clontarf in the classroom. We used the school iPads to research Clontarf on https://www.loveclontarf.ie/
During our History lesson, we looked at photographs of Clontarf in the past. Do you recognise any of these places?
We also studied the story of Helen, and the Wooden Horse of Troy. We created super storyboards using our summarising skills and awesome artistic ability.
Carla brought in a beautiful book of Greek Mythology, illustrated by Victoria Topping https://www.victoriatopping.com/ We were inspired to create these fantastic portraits.
We were also very proud to have Elsa Sheehan, Olette, Emma and Amy represent our class at the Santry Cross-Country Championships.
