On behalf of all of our pupils, staff and Board of Management I would like to welcome you to the website of St John the Baptist Senior Girls’ N.S. Known colloquially as Belgrove Senior Girls N.S., our school is a happy, welcoming, child-centred and progressive school. As a staff, we pride ourselves on our professionalism, commitment, dedication and teamwork in delivering an excellent education for all our students in a caring, inclusive and supportive environment.
A senior school ranging from second to sixth class, we have high expectations for all of our pupils. It is our aim to ensure each pupil achieves their full potential during their time in Belgrove Senior Girls’ N.S.
The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities to compliment the academic on offer within the school and ensure that each pupil receives a well – rounded education.
In collaboration with our parents, we endeavour to nurture the children’s academic, social, emotional and spiritual development. As a Catholic school, we strive to ensure our Catholic ethos underpins all that we do in our school and is the backbone of our school as a whole.

Thanks to Professor Madeleine Lowery, Caoimhe Byrne and Andrea Ortiz Cuadros from the UCD School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering who showed us how to setup an electronic house alarm system. Similar fun can be had at UCD Festival, Saturday 7th June https://festival.ucd.ie/
Huge thank you to Captain Mark, the crew of Rescue 116 and the Irish Coast Guard who organised a very special trip for all our pupils. The crew of Rescue 116 gave us a day to remember by allowing our pupils to come and see their fabulous helicopter and tell us about their work.

Well done to Rebecca who represented Donabate Portrane Special Olympics club in an inter-club competition. 100 athletes, from 7 different clubs competed on Saturday. Rebecca won silver in her 50 meter run, 4th in her softball throw and 3rd in her relay.
Ms Walshe’s 6th Class was delighted to welcome Eoin Mc Craith, of Geological Survey Ireland, to teach us about rocks and fossils.
