Monday, 14thMarch

As part of the overall Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme, our whole school 1916 exhibition will take place on Monday 14th March 2016 in the school hall.  The
Exhibition will run from:

  • 11:15 – 12.15p.m. & 1:00 – 2:00p.m.

It will also be open from:

  • 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m.

We are very privileged to have Joe Duffy, Author & Broadcaster, officially opening our exhibition at 6.30p.m.!

In order to facilitate numbers in the hall, your daughter will give you a time allocation to view the exhibition and if possible we would appreciate if you could keep to this allocated time slot. The girls and their teachers have put a huge amount of hard work into the preparations for this exhibition which I’m sure you will find informative and enjoyable.

Tuesday, March 15th

March 15th 2016,  has been designated “Proclamation Day” for schools in Ireland.  On that day we will raise “Bratach na hÉireann”, which was gifted to us last October by representatives of the Defence Forces. The girls will sing “Amhrán na bhFiann” and some of the girls will read their “Proclamation for a new Generation” as per Circular 47/2015.  The girls will be given a chosen colour to wear as we will be forming our own living version of the Irish Flag for a school photo!

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Anne McCarthy
