Christmas Trees

5ú Mí na Nollag

A thuismitheoirí,

As you know our Gaelic Football Team have reached the Cumann Na mBunscol Final which will be played in Croke Park on Tuesday, December 13th at 1p.m.  This is a fantastic achievement for the girls agus –  táimid an-bhrodúil astu –  we are SO proud of them.  The Senior Boys’ School Team have also reached the final and will be playing in Croke Park on the same day.

Admission to Croke Park is €3 per child.  I would appreciate if you could send in €5 (note) by this Thursday – the extra €2 is towards transport cost which is being subsidised by the PA and the school.

If you as a parent wish to attend the match, you need to send in €5 admission fee to the school, as no money will be collected on the day in Croke Park and  you will not be allowed attend.  This is due to a change in policy in Croke Park.

The girls will wear school tracksuits, and I suggest tights/leggings under the tracksuit to keep warm, an extra jumper/jersey in red or blue if possible, a warm coat, scarf, gloves and a SANTA HAT!

We will bring the 4th, 5th and 6th classes to both matches,  2nd and 3rd will come later for the girls’ match.

We will return to the school after the match and expect to be home for 3.10 p.m.

GO  BELGROVE!

Christmas Cards

There are still Christmas Card packs available in school should you wish to purchase them. Please send in the €6 with your daughter to her class teacher.

Carol Service

We are holding our Carol Service in St Gabriel’s Church at 11.30am on Monday 19th December 2011. Parents are invited to join us as we prepare for the coming of Jesus. We will use the two middle aisles to seat the children, leaving the side aisles free for parents. The children will be returning to school afterwards with their teacher.

Reminders

  • Has your daughter lost an item of clothing- please check our lost property box – Éadaí Caillte
  • Converse runners are not suitable for P.E.
  • Now the season of Advent is upon us, we are busy preparing for the coming of Jesus. We appreciate your thoughts and generosity at Christmas time but  please do not feel you need to send in a gift to teachers.
  • School closes for Christmas at 12 noon on Thursday, 22nd December and reopens on Monday 9th January 2012.

On behalf of all of us here in Belgrove Senior Girls’ School, I would like to wish you and your family a very peaceful and happy Christmas.
