Sponsored Walk : Friday, 28th October 2011
(Bí gléasta suas – be dressed up!)
Míle buíochas to the committee of our Parents’ Association for once again organising our sponsored walk. We hope lots of Moms and Dads will be able to join us. We intend leaving the school at 11.00am and the walk takes about 40 minutes.
Even though your daughter will be dressed for Hallowe’en, please ensure she has suitable clothing and footwear for the walk, including a rain jacket.
Buíochas mór to all who have sponsored the girls. If you have not done so please return the sponsorship form and money to the Parents’ Associaton. Unused forms may also be returned.
Cumann na mBunscol
Belgrove Senior Girls’ have entered the Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic Football competition. The team is made up of girls from the 5th and 6th classes. Our team has reached the semi- final stage after a very close and tense game when they beat Our Lady of Good Counsel!
Go n-éirí libh!
Míle buíochas to Mr. Kevin Hoy and Mr. John Moreau for their support and help in training the GAA team. Míle buíochas freisin, to Ms. Brodie and Ms. Breathnach, for their help in organising the football.
Primary Athletics
We participated in the North Dublin Primary Schools Annual Cross Country Competition, again this year. Over 140 girls, from 4th to 6th class, took part in the training sessions. 8 teams participated in the event on a wet, miserable, Monday 17th October. Comhghairdeas to all those who completed the course on the day.
Susie O’Flynn came 1st, Lucy Barrett 2nd and Sarah Fagan 3rd. Maith sibh a chailíní. Buíochas mór do Ms. Nic Lughadha, Ms. O’Connell and Ms. Foley for their help.
Book Rental Scheme
Your daughter is now using text books rented from the school and I would ask that you would mind them carefully please. We will collect them back at the end of the school year for use for the next group of girls.
Parking
I have received a letter from the management committee of Merchamp on Seafield Road East with regard to parents using the grounds of Merchamp to park their cars. It is private property and they would appreciate if unauthorised vehicles did not park within the grounds of the apartment complex.
