Winners all round!

What a momentous day, Tuesday 22nd October was for Belgrove Gaelic Football in Croke Park.

After a thrilling, nail-biting final against a very strong St. Patrick’s Hollypark our Belgrove girls took home the Corn Austin Finn, named after one of Ireland’s greatest photographers. Austin Finn photographed many a final day in Croke Park and was held in such esteem with Cumann na mBunscol that they named a trophy in his honour. It was presented on the day by his daughter.

The Belgrove SGNS League team were also presented medals on the day for topping their league.

Míle buíochas to Ms. Mason and Ms Mohan who took on the role of coaching the teams this year. Special thanks also to Clontarf GPO, Will Lillis for his help and support.

Míle buíochas also to our 16th player, our wonderful teachers and students who all came along to support us on the day. It was fabulous day, winners all round, cheered on by fellow students, family and friends. A day full of wonderful memories!

Preparing for Croke Park!

Dublin Ladies Footballer and past pupil, Niamh Hetherton, called in to help out with our football training session last week.

Niamh represented Belgrove SGNS on two occasions in Croke Park. She had a few words of wisdom for our girls ahead of our upcoming final in Croke Park, namely to go out and do your best and enjoy the experience.

Míle buíochas Niamh!

Belgrove Gaelic Football

Comhghairdeas to our Belgrove Gaelic Football Teams!

This year we fielded two gaelic football teams a League and Cup team.

Congratulations to all girls on the League team who have topped Group A in their league.

The Corn Austin Finn also topped their group and then narrowly defeated St. Colmcille’s, Knocklyon in a thrilling Quarter Final game. The girls went on to secure a place  in Croke Park after a very tight semi-final game against St. Pius NS in Ringsend Park.

Go n-éirí libh a chailíní!

Belgrove abú!
