I hope you all had a lovely weekend.
We will be continuing to read Ickabog this week. I’m glad so many of you are enjoying JK Rowling’s new book. I must admit I’m finding it a real page-turner!
I have attached the links to watch for this week’s writing activities and we will continue to write out and learn our Irish verbs. In maths we will be doing capacity this week. We covered all this in maths stations without using our books so it should be just some fun revision.
Brazil projects are due at the end of this week. I will put up a folder on Seesaw that the girls can add them to when they are finished or if it’s easier you can email me their work to firstname.lastname@example.org. I can’t wait to see them!
I hope you all have a great week!
Monday’s writing activity video link: https://www.literacyshed.com/soar.html
Wednesday’s writing activity: Watch Video https://youtu.be/zzFl3-KR7xA and then write a dialogue for the short animation (see worksheet below)
Just in case the verb endings are causing any confusion, I have attached this more detailed explanation which outlines what verbs break the rules. However, writing them out will help the girls become familiar with how they look.
I hope you are all enjoying Sports Day.⛹🏽♀️🤸🏼♀️ I have attached a folder of activities below that I also posted earlier this week. There is a sheet with 10 different activities. You can decide yourself which you would like to do, or get creative and come up with your own ideas. You can send in some photos to Seesaw to keep me posted on what fun activities you do!
I am uploading the answers for this week’s work for you incase you did not see it on Seesaw. I have attached all the answers for Mental Maths in case any of you did Monday and Friday (even though it wasn’t on the plan!!).

This week we are continuing to work on our Brazil projects. You can include different topics that aren’t included on the list like famous people/sports etc. 6/7 pages is loads to complete on your project. It is so important that you understand everything you write down.
New Novel: 📖 I have included a new story for reading this week. I will put the link on Seesaw so that you can access it at the click of a button! It is called the Ickabog, https://www.theickabog.com/read-the-story/ , and it is written by JK Rowling. We will be reading 2 chapters each day and if you would like you can illustrate the story as you go and get involved in her amazing competition! 🎨(see more information on the website above/ the weekly work).
All actvities below will be posted on Seesaw during the week with the specific instructions for each one.
You might notice that this Friday is Sports Day!🎾🤸🏼♀️⚽🏀 🤸🏼♀️I am attaching a folder full of ideas for sports day on Friday. There is a sheet with 10 different activities. You can decide yourself which you would like to do, or get creative and come up with your own ideas. I’ve also included a scoreboard, medals and certificates, if you want, you could get the whole family involved! You can send in some photos to Seesaw to keep me posted on what fun activities you do!
