Welcome to our last week of school this year!

Thank you all for returning your books to school.

As it is the last week I have set out some fun, lighter activities for you. You can enjoy the final chapters of ‘The Icabok’.

Try out as many as you can, doing whatever works for you and your family.

Keep an eye out for our end of year message before the end of the week. Have a great week.

Week 12 Home Learning

Hello ladies, I hope you are all well. We are heading into the last two weeks of school.

This week is slightly different on Tuesday and Wednesday, as you will have activities to complete and continue but you will not be submitting work on seesaw on those two days. We have chosen nice activities for your enjoyment.

I would suggest saving the art activity for Tuesday and we have chosen virtual tours for you to enjoy throughout the next two weeks.

Week 11 Home Learning with Mrs Daly

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I loved seeing some of the fun things you got up to for Sports day on Friday. I hope you all enjoyed the day. I hope to see some more photos of your activities on seesaw.

I have attached our home learning plan for this week. We are continuing with our Brazil project for the week. It is due this Friday, the 12th of June. If you have any questions about it you can contact me on Seesaw! I can’t wait to see all of the amazing projects.

Concentrate on the core subjects: English, Irish and Maths. I would like to see work posted up on seesaw by everyone please. Do your best. We only have a few more weeks to go before the summer holidays.

Week 10 Home Learning

Hello ladies,

Well done for all your hard work and your participation in remote learning. Our computer skills have greatly improved over the past 12 weeks. Lots of you are typing your work on seesaw.

Good news this week. Firstly there are three days of academic work and this Friday is sports day. You will see our folder of activities for sports day here on this blog.

Secondly there is no Mental Maths this week. You can have a little break and we will start again next week. There is no spellings or litriú. This is finished for the month of June.

Remember next week I will be expecting to see some wonderful projects and I will be encouraging you to present them on seesaw. So this week you have more of an opportunity to catch up on your research please.

I hope you have a great week and I am looking forward to hearing how you like J.K. Rowling’s new book.

Missing you all very much,

Lisa Daly

Week 9 Home Learning

Hello my lovely ladies from Room 7. I hope you had a nice weekend even though it was very windy. I am so impressed with all of your work on seesaw. You are doing a fabulous job.

Brazil project is to be completed over a number of weeks. I would like you to spend this week researching the topic and I am adding in lots of powerpoint presentations on the blog here to help you familiarise yourself with this topic.

Revise the musical notes below so that you can participate in the music activities on seesaw.

Remember start each day afresh and focus on that days work please. Prioritise your English, Irish and Maths work first. Seesaw activities can be answered on the app and shouldn’t take too long. They can help you develop your typing skills and have a break from all the handwriting.

Have a great week and looking forward to seeing all your work. I am missing you loads.

Week 8 Home Learning

Hi all, hope you had a nice weekend. Keep up the great work. I have seen some fantastic projects.

This is a new week so if you feel you’ve fallen behind, don’t worry, just concentrate on this weeks work.

Please read the instructions carefully both on the blog and on seesaw. There are a lot more interactive assignments on seesaw this week. Did you read the information we sent out on Friday about Seesaw?

I’m looking forward to listening to your reading in both English and Irish. I will post up the answers to maths towards the end of the school day and I have set some new Mangahigh challenges this week.

Missing you all very much. Keep safe and keep up the Covid-19 requirements.

Have a great week,

Lisa Daly

Week 7 Home Learning

Hello Ladies,

This is the seventh week of home schooling. Did we ever think this was going to happen? I’m really missing the classroom and most especially all of you girls.

This week I will set a new challenge on Mangahigh, watch out on seesaw for powerpoint presentations to help with the SESE project. I’m looking forward to listening to your English and Irish reading. Try your best and keep in touch.

In SESE you can break down the week as follows:

Monday: Write out storyboard.
Tuesday: Write out timeline of Saint Anne’s Park.
Wednesday: Then vs Now
Thursday: Diary Entry of Arthur Edward Guinness
Friday: Go explore Saint Anne’s Park. You can send in any photos you have of Saint Anne’s Park – for example: Can you find the Holy Well, the Rose Garden or the The Herculanean Temple down by the duck pond?

Below you will see the work for this week

Week 6

Hello ladies,

My advice this week is if you feel that work is getting too much, focus your efforts on English and Maths. Most importantly, keep up the reading and maintain the good habits we developed this year.

Today is a new day, new week, fresh start.

Below I will post up this weeks work. You can see that there is one task each day that I would like you to put up on seesaw. Every week we would like to listen to your English and Irish reading.

Today I would love to see your Friday Review posted up on seesaw. Please continue to use your highlighters to sort sums into the four categories: add, subtract, multiply and divide. This is a super strategy for problem solving.

I hope you are all well and staying safe,

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Mental Maths answers

Happy Friday. Happy May day. Happy bank holiday weekend.

I’m going to post up the Mental Maths answers and I would love to see your Friday Review corrected and posted up on seesaw please.

I am hoping you had a good week, I heard a lot of girls reading this week but if you didn’t get an opportunity yet please pop up a recording on seesaw.

Week 5 Home Learning

Hello ladies, I hope you had a nice weekend and that you are ready for some new tasks this week. As you will see on this weekly plan each day there will be tasks assigned on seesaw. I would like you to participate and submit your work for corrections and feedback from both Mrs. O’Toole and myself throughout this week. Please stick to the tasks prescribed for next week and only submit what is requested as there are 28 pupils in the class and it will be difficult to correct everyone’s work if some girls are submitting extra pieces. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
