During Maths week, we paired up with 6th Class Tables Buddies from Ms O’Connell’s class. We did alternate skip counting, and taught the 6th Class girls our game, ‘Grab a Cube’. We also practised our addition and subtraction tables together, and created word problems.
We competed in the 3rd Class Queen of the Tables competition. Congratulations to Ruth, Teaghan, Lexi and Eabha who represented our class in the final.
We worked together to produce a marvellous Maths door. We used Maths Language to write word problems in pairs. We demonstrated how to work out the answer using cubes and matchsticks, and drew pictures to illustrate the story. Even though Maths Week is over, our creation is so fabulous, we want to leave it up for the whole year!
At the school’s Maths Week assembly, the class also sang two of our favourite skip counting songs in front of the entire school. Caireann was awarded a prize for her hard work during Maths Week – congratulations!
