Favourite Memories of 3rd Class

The Summer Holidays are here at last! Did you throw your coat up into the air at midday on Friday? Mrs McCarthy did!!

Here are some of the our class’ favourite memories of Rang a Trí. Thank you for all of your hard work this year, both in Room 9 and during the school closure.

I know that you will all work hard for Ms Duffy in 4th Class. She is really looking forward to being your teacher. I have already told her about all the amazing girls she will have in Room 8 next year.

One of the best things you can do this Summer, is to keep reading! The Dublin libraries are running Summer Stars Reading Programme again this year. You can listen to audio/e-books, write short stories, read book reviews, do quizzes and enjoy storytime by the librarians and local authors. Definitely worth checking out! https://www.librariesireland.ie/services/right-to-read/summer-stars

Enjoy a wonderful Summer!

Please fill in the Memory Page, and send it to me by Wednesday. I hope that you will feel proud of your work, and pleased to share it on the class blog.

Learning at home, 15th-19th June

Good morning !

I hope that you all have a good weekend.

This is our second last week of Learning from Home before our Summer Holidays begin! I really enjoy seeing your wonderful work on Seesaw and the lovely messages you send. Maith sibh! 🙂

For these last two weeks, instead of Busy at Maths, there is a Maths Choice Board, with activities similar to our Friday Maths Stations. I hope you’ll enjoy them.

Father’s Day is next Sunday, 21st June. I’ve included a sample of Scavenger Hunt clues that you could put around your home to lead your Dad to a lovely card, gift or surprise you’ve created. But you could get creative and make up your own clues!

Déan do dhícheall. Please organise your day to suit you and your family. If you need anything just send me an email or a message on Seesaw.

Have a great week!

Ms Walshe

Learning at Home 8th-12th June

I hope that you all had a great weekend. Did you enjoy Friday’s Sports Day? Please send me any Sports Day photos and drawings you have, so that I can make a blog post on Monday evening.

We are nearly at the end of 3rd Class! Can you believe it? I am so proud of the effort you are putting in to your work. I love seeing photos of your work on Seesaw. All you can do is your best, some days you will get more done than others, and that is ok! As always, you should organise your day to suit you and your family. Déan do dhícheall!

Learning at Home, 2nd-5th June

I hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend. This week will be a shorter academic week, due to the Bank Holiday and Sports Day on Friday.

This week we will learn about Division with bigger numbers, so I have attached some division sheets to help you revise your division tables. You can print them or do them in your copy or on a blank page.

This week’s work is organised for you in a daily schedule grid, at the end of the Learning at Home document. Organise your day to suit your family and your household.

It can be difficult to concentrate when the weather is so nice, but I know you will do your best. Do as much as you can from the list each day, but do focus in particular on the core subjects: English, Maths and Irish.

Try your best, but if you can’t do something, move on to the next thing on your list. Ask me if you have any questions at all. Déan do dhícheall!  I look forward to seeing your work on Seesaw.

Georgian Dublin

Georgian Dublin describes a time in history (1714 to 1830) when Dublin grew as a city. During this time period, four Georges were king and ruled over Great Britain and Ireland. Hence the word Georgian.

Houses built at this time had a particular style of architecture, they were all similar and very symmetrical. The Casino in Marino is a magnificent and local example of architecture of this time.

Have a look at my Power point presentations which will help you to learn more:

Georgian-Dublin-1Download
Casino MarinoDownload

In the Power points there are links to interesting videos and virtual tours- Please ask your parents before clicking on any link.

Here is a worksheet, which, if you have access to a printer, you might enjoy. It relates directly to the Virtual Tour of No. 29 Fitzwilliam Street. It is very good but quite long so you may not want to print all of it.
