Fractions.

Jumbo Fraction Magnet Set | Oriental Trading

This month we have been looking at fractions 1 in school. We have been learning about halves, quarters, eighths, tenths, thirds, sixths, ninths, twelfths and fifths. We have been using fraction wheels and walls to compare fractions – equivalent fractions and ordering fractions smallest to biggest

We have focused on problems where we are finding a fraction of a number e.g. What is 1/8 of 72? yes, nine. What is 3/8 of 72? Yes, 27.

The girls have worked extremely hard to develop their understanding in this area which has been fantastic to see – well done girls!

I have linked below some useful websites to revise these concepts:

https://www.sheppardsoftware.com/mathgames/fractions/equivalent_fractions_shoot.htm

https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/264/Crystal-crash-fractions-numbers

Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí!
