We studied Early Christian Ireland, and found out about monks that lived in Ireland over a thousand years ago.
We learned wonderful words and phrases like vellum, parchment, manuscript, filigree, high cross, refectory, beehive hut and abbot.
Teacher wanted the whole class to get new monk-style haircuts, but nobody wanted to get their head shaved into a tonsure. Instead we did Monastery Drama Bingo to show off what we knew about life in Early Christian Ireland.
We created wonderful monastery art, with round towers, made from recycled kitchen rolls.
